The mission of Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA) is to ensure children living in low-income communities meet high academic and social standards, and thrive as leaders at home, in their communities, and in the world. PLA is a non-profit network of high-performing public and public charter schools. Our focus is primarily on turning around currently failing schools. 

The mission of Great Jobs KC is to increase postsecondary education attainment in the greater Kansas City area. Great Jobs KC will provide the means—through scholarships, financial incentives to promote college savings, and support services—for low- and modest-income students and adults needing access and support to pursue and complete a postsecondary credit-bearing credential or degree.

Skilled US works to help adults nationwide acquire the skills that will enable them to secure jobs that pay family-sustaining wages. The tuition-free program is a leading advocate for educational excellence and workforce development and is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a number of competitive job markets.

The mission of Summer Advantage USA is to harness the power of summer to help all childrenmaximize their tremendous innate potential. Summer Advantage is a full-day, 5-week educationalprogram that includes a healthy breakfast and lunch; rigorous morning academic instruction in reading, writing and math; and afternoon enrichment in areas including art, music, drama, physical education and science.

Earl Co-Founded and led BELL as its CEO for nearly 10 years. BELL is a $27.5M non-profit organization whose mission is to increase the educational and life opportunities of elementary school children living in low-income urban communities. Under Earl's leadership, BELL educated nearly 12,000 scholars in 75 public and charter school sites throughout Baltimore, Boston, Detroit,New York City, and Springfield, MA. BELL’s corps of educators includes more than 1,000 teachers and tutors. Today, the legacy of Earl’s vision continues through the organization which has been renamed BellXcel and in its combined 25 year history, has touched the lives of 172,000 students across 135 sites in 28 U.S States.
