ABOUT EARL MARTIN PHALEN

Earl began his career in education over 35 years ago while a law student at Harvard. There, he founded Building Educated Leaders for Life (BELL) which operated after-school and summer education programs in several major U.S. cities. With his vision, BELL grew from a small service project with 10 volunteers serving 23 children to a national non-profit with 52 full-time and 750 part-time employees serving 12,000 scholars annually. Today, the legacy of Earl’s vision continues through the numerous initiatives he has been blessed to lead including his network of charter schools, Phalen Leadership Academies, through his work with Great Jobs KC and most recently, through the launch of Skilled US.
